Biography
Vladimir Dashkeev joined the Albers School of Business and Economics at 91̽»¨ after earning his PhD in economics from the University of Washington. His research areas are macroeconomics, international macroeconomics, and fiscal policy. Vladimir’s recent studies investigate the effects of asymmetric balanced-budget rules and tax system heterogeneity on interregional risk sharing in a fiscal union. Vladimir has extensive experience in teaching business school at the MBA level (in both brick-and-mortar and online classrooms), and teaching economics to undergraduates, with classes ranging from small to large.
Prior to joining the faculty at 91̽»¨, he was a research fellow at the Gaidar Institute for Economic Policy, where he had the honor of working alongside Yegor Gaidar, the first prime minister in the history of post-Soviet Russia. The Institute is a Moscow think-tank specializing in economic policy research and industry consulting.
