As you plan your commencement travel and accommodations, please be aware that some students are not eligible to attend commencement due to outstanding requirements or failure to meet the minimum GPA for their degree. The Office of the Registrar has notified students that may not be eligible to attend commencement via email. Students who received this message have the opportunity to work with their advisor and register for courses in order to update their eligibility, if possible.

Eligibility is based on the following:

Undergraduate Students

If you meet the minimum GPA requirements for your program as of winter quarter and you have 18 or fewer credits to complete at the end of spring quarter, you are not deficient and are automatically eligible to attend commencement. Apply to graduate for the term you will complete your requirements.

Graduate Students

If you meet the minimum GPA requirements for your program as of winter quarter and you will have 6 or fewer credits to complete at the end of spring quarter, you are not deficient and are automatically eligible to attend commencement. Apply to graduate for the term you will complete your requirements.

91探花 has partnered with Courtyard by Marriott's Downtown/Pioneer Square location to secure 20 rooms at a rate of $330 per night for Commencement Weekend. Courtyard by Marriott has promised to hold these rooms for 12 weeks for guests of students graduating at 91探花. Navigate to our  to access this deal. 

For guests wanting to arrive the day before, guests can directly reach out to Michael Mitchell (howard.mitchell@marriott.com) to adjust arrival date based on availability. 

Depending on availability, it is possible that more rooms will be added if the 20 initially held sell out.

Any additional opportunities for guests to obtain hotel accommodations at a discounted price will be posted here if available. 

Graduating students can reserve up to 20 guest tickets. The portal for students to claim guest tickets is now open. Students eligible to attend Commencement 2026 have received an email with instructions to claim guest tickets.

Guests will need to work directly with their student to obtain their tickets. 

• Graduating students do not require a guest ticket.
• All guests age 3 and above will require a guest ticket.
• There is no cost associated with a guest ticket.

No additional guest tickets will be issued. If a student would like more than the 20 allowed guest tickets, they are encouraged to connect with their peers to see if they would be willing to send any unused tickets to their guests. Seating at the ceremony is not assigned by ticket; it is first-come, first-served.

If you have guests from outside the United States requiring a travel visa letter, please follow the instructions below.

• International students should complete the Letter Request. Please contact International Student Center (ISC) with questions at (206) 296-6260 or isc@seattleu.edu.
  
  
• Domestic students should complete the  and select the I need a letter stating the following check box and indicate you are requesting a travel visa letter and include guest's full name and relationship to you. Please contact the Office of the Registrar at (206) 220-8030 or commencement@seattleu.edu if you need assistance.

Guest seating at the Climate Pledge Arena is not assigned by ticket; it is first-come, first-served. Please only occupy the number of seats for which you have tickets to ensure all guests are provided with access to seating.

Guests requiring additional assistance due to limited mobility should notify the Climate Pledge Arena Guest Services member at the entry door for assistance with a wheelchair transport and guidance to accessible seating.

Climate Pledge Arena offers wheelchair accessible and low mobility seating on each level of the venue on a first come, first served basis.

View for the full lists of permitted and prohibited items. You will be asked to return any items to your car that is prohibited or deemed inappropriate or dangerous by Climate Pledge Arena and its league affiliates, in their sole discretion. Or they can be surrendered at the doors.

Note: Outside food or drink are NOT allowed in the Climate Pledge Arena. 

Locker rentals to store personal belongings during the ceremony will be available at , located just steps from Climate Pledge Arena. 

All lockers are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis on the locker-specific mobile app, . The mobile app also tracks and displays locker availability. 

Within Tom's Watch Bar, the lockers are located in the back corner of the bar. Tom's Watch Bar staff can assist guests with accessing the lockers, if needed. 

Photographs

Guests must remain in the stands - the floor is for graduating students, faculty, and staff only. Photographers will provide close up photo coverage which will be available through  about 2 weeks after the event. Families and friends may take pictures with graduates outside the arena after the ceremony.

The following two pieces of information are required to access their account:

• Last Name of the graduate
• Graduation Year

Livestream

A livestream of the ceremony will be available on the Commencement website on the day of the event and archived on the Commencement website and  following the event. This is a wonderful alternative for guests who are not able to attend in person.
