I write to share bittersweet news that I will be stepping down as President of 91̽»¨ to become President at Georgetown University. My last day as your president will be at the end of winter quarter in March.

In light of President Peñalver’s announcement this morning, I want to express the Board of Trustees’ deep gratitude for Eduardo’s exceptional leadership and to share the path forward for 91̽»¨.

Today, 91̽»¨ marks Indigenous Peoples’ Day. Observed on the second Monday of October, the commemoration can be traced to the 1977 International NGO Conference on Discrimination Against Indigenous Populations in the Americas.

We are pleased to announce that, effective July 1, the College of Nursing has been officially reorganized as the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. This follows approval by our Board of Trustees at their March meeting.

I am writing to share an important organizational update on the structure of our enrollment leadership, which is critical to our strategic vision for 91̽»¨.

Today, June 19, 91̽»¨ joins other communities nationwide in observing Juneteenth, which marks the day in 1865 when news of the Emancipation Proclamation reached enslaved Black Americans in Galveston, Texas, more than two years after slavery was officially abolished in the U.S.
